Foodies, check out these Idaho wineries!
As someone who loves wine and is a major foodie, there’s nothing quite like stumbling upon a local winery that pairs their exceptional wines with equally amazing food. That’s why I’ve put together a list of Idaho wineries with food menus. While many places offer delicious charcuterie and small bites, sometimes you just want to indulge in a full meal amidst a stunning vineyard backdrop.
Telaya Wine Co.
Starting in the Boise area, check out Telaya Winery. Situated right along the greenbelt in Garden City with a laid-back patio, this spot is a must-visit. Telaya is home to Terroir Boise Food Truck. Terroir Boise creates seasonal dishes with farm-fresh ingredients. Each dish is Instagrammable and oh so yummy. I recently tried their Gluten-Free Sesame Chicken Rice Bowl. It was a perfect blend of sweet, savory, nutty umami flavors with crisp fresh greens and fried cauliflower served over rice. I paired it with Telaya’s Sauvignon Blanc. The bright acidity in the wine balanced out the richness of the flavorful sesame sauce perfectly! And I must add, the ordering system is so convenient and simple.
3 Horse Ranch Vineyards
Next up is 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards in Eagle, Idaho. Drive down a long dirt road to reveal what I would argue is one of the most beautiful vineyards in the state. And they serve great food! Their menu has an impressive selection of mouthwatering plates such as steak, gourmet sandwiches, desserts, and appetizers. I had the Rueben Sandwich and it hit the spot after a full day of winery visits with Idaho Wine Tours. And with it being the last stop on the Eagle AVA tour, I slowed down on the wine, but I enjoyed a few sips from their white wine flight. This is the kind of place where you visit and feel transported, as if you’ve stepped outside of Idaho for a moment.. Absolutely gorgeous views! And inside, you’re able to sit in the production room with the tanks and barrels offering a unique experience. This is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion and escape life for a bit. You can even rent the winery house for a weekend if you really want to get away.
Kindred Vineyards
Now we make our way to the Sunnyslope Wine Trail in Caldwell, Idaho. Kindred Winery is known for its fantastic wood-fired pizza. And rumor has it they make the best wood-fired Mac and Cheese. Each bottle has family history on the labels. Taste through their French-oak reds and enjoy the stunning vineyard views.
Parma Ridge Winery & Bistro
Next on the Sunny Slope Trail is Parma Ridge Winery in Parma, Idaho. The winemaker at Parma Ridge also happens to be a chef! This spot is on my bucket list. The menu looks incredible and I can’t wait to experience the flavors. They have a full Bistro Menu with steak, salmon, filet mignon, appetizers, flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches, desserts, and even a kids menu! I’m sure their estate wines go perfectly with their impressive menu. Reservations are required so be sure to plan ahead.
Kerry Hill Winery
Back to Caldwell for this lovely spot! In the summer, Kerry Hill Winery has food trucks every weekend (plus live music). It is a beautiful winery with a lush green lawn for those summer concerts. The winery is named after their Irish Kerry Hill Sheep that they raise on their property. This beautiful and eco-friendly winery has been around for 35 years. You can even rent their guest house. Check them out! If you’re looking forward to food then I recommend calling in advance to double check their food truck schedule. Wine is available for purchase by the bottle and by the glass.
Cold Springs Winery
Let’s move down to Southern Idaho. Cold Springs Winery is just 60 miles outside of Boise in Hammett, Idaho. You’ve probably seen the winery sign if you’ve ever driven down I-84. You can’t miss it! This lovely spot has it all. The vineyard views, good wine, and food! Specifically, PIZZA! Each week they have a new pizza special. The combinations are endless and so tasty. When the weather is perfect I recommend sitting on the patio with views of the vineyard and the lovely pond. The entire staff is so lovely. I can’t emphasize enough how good the hospitality is. Cold Springs Winery is truly a hidden gem.
Y Knot Winery
Now let’s talk about Y Knot Winery in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. This winery has a bit of everything, including a golf course, cabin rentals, an RV park, and a full restaurant tavern. The tasting room itself looks like a fairytale castle sitting amongst magical grapevines. With a rich history spanning 40 years, this charming winery has become a staple in the area. Everyone told me to try the Halibut, and the hype was real. My meal was incredible. I also ordered a flight of their wine. The reserve Merlot was great with ripe dark fruit notes. They offer a variety of beverages, catering to every taste. My friend opted for a margarita. There is truly something for everyone here. I highly recommend making a day trip to Y Knot Winery.
Rivaura Estate Vineyard and winery
And finally, we travel north to Rivaura Wine in Juliaetta, Idaho. The vineyard overlooks the majestic Clearwater River and is framed by rolling hills. The scenic views are epic! And I really love their wine. Great wine is coming out of Northern Idaho! As for the food, every now and then they have wood-fired pizza available. They post updates on their Instagram so be sure to follow them. Or you can give them a call.
Now you have the inside scoop on all the Idaho wineries with food menus in each wine region of the state. Enjoy exploring these local, family-owned gems, and don’t forget to share your thoughts!
