The Sweet Wine Section Blog
Welcome to the Sweet Wine Section
Where the pour is heavy and the rules are light.
If you’ve ever felt like the wine world was a little too serious (and maybe just a little too dry in more ways than one), you’re in the right place.
The Sweet Wine Section is for the girls who live for wine walks, gossip sessions, vibey tasting rooms, and late-night “should we open another bottle?” debates.
I’m Sonnay Alvarez, a 30-year-old Latina working in the wine industry as a marketing strategist for wineries. I’m deep in this world behind the scenes, in the cellars, at the events, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s that the fun side of wine rarely gets the spotlight.
2Sweet wines get side-eyed, and groups that bring energy often get written off as not “serious wine drinkers.” But the truth is, those groups are filling tasting rooms and sweet wines are flying off the shelves. Nowadays, people are showing up for the vibe — not the lecture. And let’s be real — we care if it’s Instagrammable.
So welcome to the blog for people who like their wine sweet, their tasting rooms fun, and their weekends photoworthy.
